As I sit down to reflect on past journeys, I'm transported back 12 years ago to March 15, 2012, a pivotal moment that marked the beginning of a chapter I'll never forget. It was the day I received the nomination and subsequent election as the Vice President of the Autauga County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Little did I know then, the profound impact this role would have on my life and the lives of those in our community.

The journey to becoming Vice President wasn't one I had anticipated. It began with a simple desire to give back to my community, to be a part of something larger than myself. When I first joined Autauga County CERT, I never imagined the path it would set me on.

I remember the excitement and nerves that filled the room as the nominations were announced. Each member of our team brought unique skills and experiences to the table, making the decision a difficult one. So, when my name was called as the nominee for Vice President, I was both honored and humbled.

The election process was a testament to the camaraderie and support within our team. As we cast our votes, it was clear that regardless of the outcome, we were all united by a shared commitment to serving our community in times of need. And when the results were announced, and I was elected as Vice President, I felt a sense of responsibility unlike any I had experienced before.

As Vice President, I embraced the challenges and opportunities that came my way. From organizing training sessions to coordinating community outreach events, every task was an opportunity to make a difference. Together with the rest of the executive team, we worked tirelessly to ensure that Autauga County CERT was prepared to respond effectively to any emergency that arose.

But beyond the practical aspects of the role, what truly made it special were the relationships formed along the way. The bonds forged with my fellow CERT members were built on trust, respect, and a shared sense of purpose. Together, we faced challenges head-on, supported each other through difficult times, and celebrated our successes as a team.
Looking back on my time as Vice President, I'm filled with gratitude for the experiences and memories that will stay with me forever. Though my journey with Autauga County CERT has taken me down new paths since then, the lessons learned and the friendships made continue to shape who I am today.

As I reminisce about that momentous day in March 2012, I'm reminded of the power of community and the difference we can make when we come together with a common goal. And while much has changed since then, one thing remains constant: my unwavering commitment to serving others and making a positive impact wherever I go.
